Our Story
Selah House began in 2015 when a small group of artists and contemplatives gathered around a shared vision: to create a space where creativity and spirituality could flourish together. What started as weekly gatherings in a living room has grown into a vibrant community with a dedicated space for retreats, art-making, and communal living.
The name 'Selah' comes from an ancient Hebrew word found throughout the poetry of the Psalms. While its ultimate meaning remains a mystery, it is believed to be a musical notation that invites us to pause, reflect, and listen. This practice of attentive presence, and the creative power we find in embracing mystery, forms the foundation of everything we do.
At Selah House, restful play is our creative catalyst. Rooted in Christ's love and open to all, we offer artists a sanctuary where imagination breathes and creativity flows naturally. Here, rest isn't passive—it's a profound act of artistic liberation.
